[Artist Book] Michele Del Campo - Paintings from 2003-2019
Michele del Campo is an Italian artist who depicts the idle and melancholic youth of the Mediterranean region. He paints beautiful, sun-kissed figures that appear aloof and lost in their unfulfilled inner world. Through his characteristic wet-on-wet painting technique he brings to life a fresh and sensual appeal to the sense of isolation and loneliness of his real-life or photographed models.
He has had solo exhibitions in Italy, Spain, the UK, the USA, Switzerland and Peru. His to-this-date paintings, drawings and sketches are drawn together in this personalised retrospective book. The collection is separated into 8 projects, each of which are accompanied by his own words. The introduction text is written by American art critic John Seed.
